Basic Concepts of Programmable Logic Devices
PLDs or programmable logic devices are integrated circuits. It contains an array of AND gates and other arrays of OR Gates. There are three kinds of PLDs based on the type of array.
- Programmable Array Logic
- Programmable Logic Array
- Programmable Read-Only Memory
Various types of programmable logic devices are:
- Programmable Logic Array (PLA)
- Programmable Array Logic (PAL)
- Generic Logic Array (GLA)
- Complex programmable logic device (CPLD)
- Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)
- Programmable Read-Only Memory (PROM)
