MS Excel has been launched in the year 1985, since then the versatility and power of excel has become one of the most used software programs in business world.

Excel is an spectacular tool helps to input the data i.e. gathered information in the required cells and group them in rows and columns.

What is Excel?

It is a software program produced by Microsoft, helps the user to add the data, sort and filter, arrange in tables, present in charts, format and calculate the data with formulas.

In simple words it useful to organize ,format, and calculate data with formulas. It is a part of office suite and is compatible with other applications in the office suite.

What is spreadsheet?

It contains tables consists of values arranged in rows and columns. By using basic and complex arithmetic operations and functions the spread sheet can be manipulated mathematically.

In simple words, organizing data in rows and columns to make it simpler to read and manipulate.

Microsoft Excel consists of workbooks. Within each workbook, there is an infinite number of worksheets and each worksheet contains columns and rows.

Work book: it is collection of many worksheets.

Work sheet: It consists of many rows and columns and also called “spreadsheet”

On the worksheet , intersection of rows and columns are called Cells. on each cell has a specific address, which is combination of numbers and letters.
